General Questions

What is the maximum number of passengers?

The maximum number of people depends on the boat, and it's crucial to respect this limit for safety and to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone on board. As a general rule, boats have a maximum capacity of 12 people, but at Emerald Yacht Charter, we offer various options with greater capacity. You can find the maximum occupancy for each boat on its individual listing.

What are the rental experience durations?

Depending on the boat, we offer "Day Charter" or "Half Day Charter," and in some cases, "Sunset Experience." The duration of the experience depends on the boat. Normally, the day charter lasts 8 hours, the half-day charter lasts 4 hours, and the sunset experience lasts 2-4 hours.

Can our children cruise with us?

Yes, the great majority of our boats are suitable for children. We ask you advise us of the age of the youngest child in your group in order to recommend an appropriate boat to guarantee their security and your peace of mind.

What time does the charter begin and end?

This depends on the type of boat and the time of year. The majority of boats are available from 10 am and need to be back at port before sunset. If you wish to enjoy the sunset on board, please speak to us.

Can I take my own food and drinks on board?

We offer bespoke charter packages with all your needs in mind so you can take your own food and drink on board, order one of our delicious onboard menus or, if you prefer, go to a restaurant. The choice is yours but please check with us about what each boat can offer before making your decision.

Can I sleep on board?

Yes, but it will depend on the type of boat chartered and the number of passengers who wish to stay the night. Overnight stays are normally permitted on charter boats which are more than 16 metres in length and some have an additional cost for night stays.

What should I bring on board?

We recommend packing light, all the essentials will be waiting on board (Towels, bottled water etc). We recommend you to pack your bathing suit, boating shoes or comfortable shoes, sunglasses, suncream etc.If you have something specific you’d like to bring, feel free.

Bookings & Payments

How do I make a reservation for a yacht charter ?

To make a reservation for a boat, you can fill out the form provided on each boat's listing. We will review your request and contact you to provide more information and answer any questions you may have. Once you've decided on the experience and dates, we'll send you a secure payment link through which you can make the reservation safely and securely.

What payment methods are accepted for booking a yacht charter?

We accept bank transfers, or we can provide a secure payment link through which you can pay with your credit card.

Is a deposit required to secure a reservation, and if so, what is the amount?

Yes, to secure dates and the boat, it's necessary to make a reservation by paying between 20-50% of the total price, depending on the boat.

What is the APA?

Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is a payment collected in advance credited to the Yacht's account prior to boarding the Yacht in order to fund estimated boarding costs and will be used to cover the costs of yacht preparation, requested supplies, port, mooring and other legal charges and fees, diesel and fuel, communications, crew gratuities, extras depending on guest particular request for services, itinerary, food, beverages etc.

In case the APA is not entirely used at the end of the charter, the remaining part will be given as a tip to the crew unless requested per the charterer. In case the spending exceeds the APA, guests will be asked to provide additional funds prior to disembarking.

Cancellation Policy

What is the cancellation policy of Emerald Yacht Charter?

All cancellations must be in writing and sent via email (info@emeraldyachtcharter.com. The cancellation charges as shown below will apply from the date the written cancellation request is received.

1. THE COMPANY is entitled to charge 50% of the total amount if the service is cancelled up to 31
days before the embarkation date.

2. THE COMPANY is entitled to charge 100% of the total amount if the service is cancelled 30 before
the embarkation date.

Cancellation policy for bad weather conditions

It may occur that the weather conditions are adverse for navigation.

THE COMPANY can’t cancel a booking because of bad forecast. The charter can only be cancelled the same day if the weather conditions do not allow the service to be provided with a safe embarking and/or sailing experience.

The reservation will be canceled as long as two of the following conditions are met simultaneously:

- Forecast of strong waves, with a wave height of more than 1.5 meters, in the area where the boat trip takes place.

- Strong wind forecast with speeds exceeding 25 knots.

- Prediction of intense rain for a period of time exceeding 20% of the total duration of the charter service.

Examples of weather conditions that are NOT adverse to navigation:

- There is a forecast that shows it is cloudy or there is little sun.

- There is a possibility of weak rains during a period of less than 20% of the total time for the sailing period.

Compensation for weather forecast cancellations:

1. Alternative date will be provided. The change of date or schedule might imply a different vessel. The same cancellation policies will apply to the new date.

2. Alternative itinerary if weather conditions, different route or starting time will apply different to the original planned itinerary. In the event that, customers decline this new itinerary offered due to weather conditions, they would not have the right to recover the amount paid in advance to secure the reservation.

3. In the event that, the weather conditions prevent us from advancing with the trip and impossibility
of rescheduling said service, a voucher will be delivered for the amount of money paid and can be
used as future reservation. Valid for 1 year.

Currently, we offer charters in Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza, Barcelona, and Marbella. However, we can also handle reservations in other destinations. Contact us, and we will assess your request.

What are some popular attractions or landmarks that can be visited during a yacht charter?

During the experience, our team will show you the best spots on the islands, uncover hidden treasures, and reveal breathtaking landscapes, including secluded coves. You can also take advantage of swimming in the crystal-clear waters, sunbathe, and explore new places.

Can I request specific amenities or services to be included during the yacht charter, such as onboard dining or entertainment?
